Salmon Fishing

Lake Michigan is fantastic for Salmon fishing. Living in Chicago, and having an uncle with a boat, made it possible for me to have many happy memories of fishing with my father and great uncle.

We also would use heavy fishing rod and reel combos.  The average rod would just simply snap if you hooked a good one – and chances were, you most likely would. The fish finder was a must. It’s a big lake, and without this piece of equipment, I don’t think that we would have caught so many fish.

How Google Has Changed the World: A Conversation With Ken Auletta

Bill Gates felt he was doing a good thing by creating a universal platform. What Gates failed to see was the growing fear of the concentration of power. This lead to governmental intervention against Microsoft through anti-trust suits.
Today Google controls 2/3s of all searches in the United States. Out of the $171 billion that is spent on advertisements every year in the US, Google claims some $21 billion of that cash flow.

The Free Flow of Information Act of 2009 (also known as the Media Shield Bill) recently passed the Senate Judiciary Committee, meaning that the bill has been placed on the official calendar of business and could be considered and voted upon by the entire Senate soon. If the bill passes in the Senate, it will still need to be reconciled with a different version that passed in the House earlier this year.

DoFollow CommentLuv Blog! WordPress DoFollow CommentLuv!

I was reading a great post today about the CommentLuv and DoFollow plugins for WordPress. I agree that leaving comments on blogs running these plugins is a great way to make the best use of blogging time that brings back a return as well. Why leave comments on blogs that will not bring any traffic, or increase link juice?

Sure, it’s not cool leaving comments just for link juice, and trolling is never a good idea. With so many blogs running CommentLuv and DoFollow, you can have the best of both worlds: Interaction with a community, and link juice for your own blog!

I agree with this and even pulled my content from HubPages.

I get the feeling that Aaron is not a big fan of using article submission for SEO and neither am I, here are 5 good reasons why article submission is a poor link building tactic and why you should publish your best articles on your own site as opposed to article sites:

Publishing the article on your own site and article sites is a complete waste of time as article sites generally generate very little traffic and only one copy of the article will be counted by the search engines.
